Matcha tea is a Japanese green tea made from finely powdered dried tea leaves. It has a slightly bitter, vegetal taste and a vibrant green color. Unlike the usual green tea preparation, where you steep the leaves in hot water and then discard them, with Matcha you whisk the powder into hot water or milk. This means you get to consume the entire tea leaf when you drink it! Matcha tea has strong antioxidant properties and is characterized by high levels of theanine and caffeine. Thanks to the collaboration of Kazumi from INPOINT JAPAN, here is a traditional Japanese recipe suitable for all seasons.
Whisk the gelatin powder with one tablespoon of water. In a small saucepan over low heat, put the milk, sugar, Matcha tea powder and add the mixed gelatin.
Stir with a wooden spoon.
Remove from the burner after the sugar and gelatin have dissolved. Once cooled, pour it inside Chocup® and leave to cool in the refrigerator.
For extra consistency, use two tablespoons of Matcha tea. In addition, you can serve with whipped cream.
